Experiment 3 - Peer Evaluation.
Sorry for the bad quality, the scanners weren't picking it up so I had to upload it with my phone camera.

Experiment 3 - The Trial Elevator.
The idea of a moving entity in Crysis. Russel made this idea sound difficult, but it was pretty simple. The flow charts are easy to understand once you watch the tutorial once. There's nothing really hard about getting the elevator to work, especially if it's a simple platform. However, getting the perspectives and speeds of the elevator is just a matter of trial and error. This simple circular platform I placed where I intend to make my meeting place for my two clients.

Experiment 3 - One Point Perspectives.
The vast amounts of drawing we have to do for all the experiments is insane! But none of it went to waste. I've learnt something new from all the drawings we have had to do over the semester. This one particularly was most interesting. I've never draw perspective drawings ever before this course, and to draw these one point perspectives was most intriguing. If you moved the vanishing point away or towards the horizon more or less of the figures were revealed in the drawing. These power words we had to include with each figure was a way of allowing us to think creatively.
Experiment 3 - Two Point Perspectives.
As I said, more drawings! This time two point perspectives. Using three t-shaped prisms we had to draw a series of two point perspective drawings. This was also a first for me, drawing two point perspective drawings and they were bloody difficult! I could manage drawing the above and eye level, but drawing the below view was definitely mind-boggling for me. However, with time I managed to get how to draw all three levels easily. These drawings are a lot more artistic, having a sense of depth within each one.
This idea of adding a second perspective to these sketches, we can understand each figure on a deeper level. These reminded me of MC Escher's work, trying to add as much detail into the drawing as possible.

Experiment 2. Textures.
My textures I chose were 6 textures demonstrating possible visual effects that could be seen from the horizon, or from a birds eye view. They symbolise something different in each one, but your mind itself has to piece it out together. For imagination to interpret was what I was aiming for. But also simplistic.
Experiment 2. Importing into Crysis (Electroliquid Aggregation.)
My selected parallel projection was the 2nd one. It looked like a very interesting piece of work and yet was not complete. I decided to pick this so I can further it more in hopes that it reiterate my hypothesis. This drawing based around two individuals Isaac Newton and Sigmund Freud and the hypothesis' based around them. The two hypothesis' were Newton's "The sun held the world together", with Freuds"Drugs helped the mind advance". I thought long and hard how to piece them together. Here is my model in 3D in sketchup and imported into Crysis. The connection between the electroliquid hypothesis and the model is that it represents todays structure in thinking and the stereotype that many artists are at their greatest peak when influenced by drugs, but in fact this undertone has been carried out throughout the centuries which is reinforced by my hypothesis derived from Newton and Freud. The idea of the centre grand tower which holds all the smaller pieces in place, and then reinforced by the ground surrounding the model. It can be considered as the drug to the mind of the model, because without it, it would be floating in space or just topple over. The hollow block off the edge shows the flaws that is capable in the human mind. With as many drugs possible the mind can be furthered, pulling away from flaw. The surrounding environment is cluttered around the model, because the model holds the environment together. At it's peak.
Electroliquid hypothesis
"As drugs helps the mind advance, the mind helped the sun hold the world together."

Experiment 2. Importing into Crysis (The Axonometric)
It took a long time to upload any Crysis work because it was never working. I spent every week sitting there trying to fix it, and I finally got it to work. I was able to get the models in but I could never import any textures in. They never seem to go in, and now that it's working. Here is my axonometric drawing that I put into SketchUp and imported it into Crysis.
Freud - "The mind can also be a prison."
Experiment 2. Electroliquid Aggregation.
Taking our 6 axonometric drawings, we had to fuse two drawings from two different individuals. This parallel projection would consist of 10 rectangular prisms. 10 prisms of course allowed for more intricate models and more creativity. These are my designs. Each drawing reminded me of a piece of artwork that reminded me of each hypothesis. I tried to deconstruct each drawing, and selecting the essential parts of each drawing, then throwing them together to create my new models. Whilst doing these models, I had to construct a hypothesis from the two drawings selected for my Electroliquid hypothesis. Below are three hypothesis' that we're constructed but have not yet been refined.
1) Agnesi/Freud - Drawings 3/4 - Through hypnosis, we can visualise the world around as polygons. |
2) Newton/Freud - Drawings 1/5 - As do drugs help the mind advance, as did the sun advice the mind but also holding it together. |
3) Newton/Freud - Drawings 2/6 - If it wasn't for apples, we'd be trapped in a prison, endlessly floating in space. |

Experiment 2. The Axonometric.
At first, I didn't understand what we had to do for the lesson. When the hypothesis' for each individual was being collected, I was trying to figure out the purpose for them. Then when I started to draw, I thought to myself. 5 rectangular prisms only?! There's no way we could get complex shapes and ideas from just 5 prisms. Then the idea of subtraction was introduced to me, and I thought to myself that they could help further my ideas in my drawings. Little did I know that the subtractions were counted as a prism. So back at square one I had to redraw them, though now I look back at them, some of then I cannot prove to be 5 prisms.
1) Newton - The sun held the world together. |
2) Newton - If it wasn't for apples, we'd be floating in space. |
3) Freud - A deeper level of thought can be obtained through hypnosis. |
4) Agnesi - It is believed that everything were made from polyons. |
5) Freud - Drugs help the mind advance. |
6) Freud - The mind can be a prison. |
